WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for Consultant on Community Enterprise Development who will be working for about 3 months in two locations in Myanmar.
Background
We are WWF, one of the world’s leading nature conservation organizations. We have been working for nearly 60 years and have offices in 100 countries, and started the programme in Myanmar in 2014. WWF collaborates with multiple partners and local communities to implement activities. The project is working on (1) agroforestry and community forest management; (2) livelihood improvements; and (3) capacity building of partners. Objectives of the consultancy
The project intends to establish at least three different value chains in ten different villages. To this end, it is necessary that local actors and intermediaries have the experience and skills to develop business plans across multiple value chains. Development pathways are to be identified and relevant capacities built. By supporting producer groups in enterprise development, necessary skills shall be built to create the conditions for producing locally and selling products to markets.

Requirements
- Degree in Agricultural Economics, Business Administration or marketing or other related subject areas
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience working in the area of agribusiness, agricultural value chain development and marketing
- Strong research and analytical skills, communication (oral and written), interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Good understanding of agricultural and rural development from both a development cooperation and private sector perspective
- Excellent understanding of agribusinesses and agricultural value chains trends in Myanmar, including major areas of interest and intervention, as well as interactions with private sector
- Good understanding and knowledge of the local context in Myanmar
- Myanmar and one other language skills are a valuable asset.
