We are looking for our delegation in Iraq for a

Art coach trainer JPO

Location and working conditions: Kirkuk - Iraq

Start date of post: Middle of September
Duration : 3 months

Conditions :

Junior Program Officer position Swiss salaried contract 2’200 CHF (~1’900 €) <> 2’400 CHF (2’100 €) net /month x 13 times (+ Withholding AVS candidate for Switzerland). Vacancy: 25 days/year, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, location, return flight.

Context:

End of June 2016, Tdh launched an integrated emergency WaSH, Child Protection and NFI response, following several waves of IDPs resulting from military operations to free Shirgat districts, as well as the South Mossul Corridor. Tdh is currently operating in Tikrit, Baiji and Tooz districts. Tdh is also operating in Kirkuk governorate via Cash grant and Child protection assistance.

Main responsibilities:

The art coach trainer is responsible to train art coaches at the Child friendly spaces and within the youth program in Nazrawa and Laylan 2 IDP camps.
The incumbent will conduct his or her duties in accordance with the Charter of Terre des hommes and the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy.

Terre des hommes expects its personnel to behaviour in accordance with local culture and traditions. The incumbent assures the moral protection of the name of Terre des hommes and upholds in all circumstances the interests of the organization.

Tdh intervenes without any affiliation to politics, religion or financial profit. The incumbent will direct his or her activities and engagements without preoccupation of political, racial or religious affiliation.

Fonction details :

Training of art coaches

  • Conduct training in general art practise
  • Conduct trainings in visual arts
  • Conduct training in theatre practise for coaches
  • Conduct training in the management of youth groups in art practise
  • Train language trainers on Art projects to learn languages

Coordination and monitoring of art coaches

  • Manages the recruitment of coaches
  • Brief the selected coaches about the project activities, needs and objectives
  • Work plan management / important dates of the project
  • Focus groups with artistic activities coaches – 1 meeting weekly
  • Focus groups with all activities coaches – 1 meeting biweekly
  • Elaboration of a 1 year planning
  • Individual and collective monitoring with a follow-up document
  • Organization of ways to communicate with parents
  • Tools conception, monitoring & evaluation
  • Communicate and collaborate in accordance with the communication contract.
  • Communicate with the delegation, zones and beneficiaries and keep them informed.
  • Participate in the management of the programme's activities, according to the strategies for reaching the objectives.
  • Develop common priority actions leading to solutions to the identified problems.
  • Identify the problems associated with the delivery of the programme and inform HR, logistics, beneficiaries.
  • Attend and take part in the meetings necessary for passing on information for the smooth running of activities.
  • Help his/her line manager in setting up the activities schedule every week

Resource management

  • Use programme resources effectively and with care.
  • Facilitate to mobilize local resources and do maximum use of them.
  • Be responsible for his/her own continuing training to develop his/her skills

Reporting

  • Ensure proper record keeping of all activities.
  • Periodically collect data and regularly update individual monitoring files of the Programme's beneficiaries.
  • Keep proper records of expenditures and report on these to the line manager.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of cases.

Others:

  • Accepts new responsibilities as and when those are assigned by the line manager.

Profile :

Competencies:

  • Experience in working on art projects with IDPs or refugees
  • Good project management experience in emergency and/or development programmes
  • Proven expertise/knowledge/Experience in cultural and social projects
  • Significant knowledge of international humanitarian response and development work
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Excellent writing, reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an inter cultural environment and in insecure locations
  • Flexibility
  • Responsive, motivated, good communicator
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Office Pack
