Position in the Organization: National Coordinator (Nepali Citizens Only)
Under the direct responsability of the India/Nepal country delegate, the national coordinator general Responsibilities (Overall purpose) will be:
Programme: To ensure Country plan and strategies are according to Tdh’s global strategy, quality of programmes and services to beneficiaries.
Representation and networking: To establish and maintain good representation of Tdh delegation with relevant forums, such as Government bodies, technical work groups, NGOs, INGOs, and with Donors in Nepal
Program development, fund raising: Coordinate the development of the Programme including developing project proposals and achieve fund raising results.
Country office operations: To ensure an effective, efficient and high-quality implementation of activities in country office as well as lead the team in an inspiring way in coordination with the CR and Tdh regional team advisers/experts.
Project Implementation: Ensure the quality of projects in terms of planning, monitoring, implementation and partners’ management, impacts, efficiency and reporting, in line with Tdh standards and with donors’ requirements.
Safety and Security: Ensure safety and security of Tdh staff and all aspects of operation in Nepal

Specific Responsibilities / Context (Tasks)
1. Programme strategy, representation and networking
Provide overall strategic and technical leadership in the design, development, planning, budgeting, and implementation of the delegation’s Programme and projects.
Support the development of annual and long-term action plans in line with Tdh’s strategy and programmatic pillars.
Lead programme integration, creating an integrated programme approach and team culture.
Participate in the annual budget process, leading the programme budgeting process, and provide ongoing oversight and management of programme budgets.
Represent Tdh in external platforms/working groups as appropriate.
Manage Tdh’s relationships with relevant programme stakeholders.
Active consultation and coordination between country team with regional team of advisers and experts on relevant issues.
Representation of Tdh delegation with relevant forums within the Country and at International level when necessary.
2. Lead programme development, fund raising and projects delivery
Ensure the delivery of programme with quality, relevance, demonstrable impact and is accountable for overall programme quality and learning.
Support the Country Representative to manage and develop Tdh’s institutional funding strategy for Nepal including significantly increasing funding from new donors.
Oversees the development and submission of new concepts/projects in coordination with country and regional team members.
Work closely with the programme and regional coordination unit in identifying opportunities for funding to ensure the financial sustainability of country programme of Nepal
Delivery and quality
Oversee the partners portfolio, with specific reference to the identification of strategic partners, and building and maintaining these relationships
Build and develop an approach to improve and maintain quality programme development as well as implementation.
MEAL and Knowledge management
Ensure data management, systems of project monitoring and project documentation is to a high standard to allow for quick and clear reporting when requested.
Developing learning and knowledge management on programmes and encouraging innovation across the organization.
Ensure MEAL is mainstreamed into Tdh’s activities and contributes to learning from and the developing of new programmes and projects.
Lead to ensure the programme compliance including SWC approval, CPAC/DPAC
Supports the Programme team and frequently contributes public communication material and information in line with the delegations’ practice and requests, especially during each field visit.
3. Team management and HR development
Build a high-performance culture in the programme team.
Provide high quality leadership and support to the Coordinators/Managers and programme team as appropriate.
Manage the programme team to deliver on the programme strategy, providing leadership and guidance and ensuring team management in line with Tdh’s HR policies and procedures.
With support from HR, manage the HR cycle of individuals within the team from pre-recruitment to exit, incl. performance management processes, and issues such as disciplinary matters.
Ensure that staff members are given opportunities for development and training, as discussed and agreed, and provide support to the capacity building planning.
Ensure an efficient and relevant staffing structure and lead structural change processes when necessary.
4. Country office operation
In collaboration with the projects managers and the Administration and Finance Coordinator reviews monthly budget vs. actual reports and orient future budgetary expenditure.
Ensure the country program’s resources are allocated and utilized effectively, transparently and in accordance with local laws and donor requirements.
Guarantee that all formalities required by the authorities are prepared, kept up to date and presented punctually.
5. Communication and Advocacy
Ensure all internal and external reporting are carried out as per expected quality, respecting guidelines and managed within the deadline.
Support for defining and developing of advocacy strategy for the delegation.
Supervise Tdh Nepal mission coordinators in designing advocacy interventions.
In consultation with Country Representative, act as a spokesperson for selected advocacy topics at the national level.
6. Context follow up and Operational Risk Management:**
Understand the context of the country and collect information on its changes in terms of needs and political dimensions.
Ensure the security and safety of Tdh staff in Nepal.
Commit to respect Tdh Risk Management Policies including: Child Protection Policy, Safety and Security Policy and Anti-Fraud/Corruption Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy
Commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Tdh Risk Management Policies (Child Protection Policy, Safety and Security Policy and Anti-Fraud/Corruption Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy) in Nepal.

Strong command of report and proposal writing skills in English, including proofreading and editing of documents

Coordination, networking and negotiation skill
Requirements for the position
Education / Qualifications
Master’s degree in Management, Development Studies, Sociology or related discipline(s)
Experience
· Influencing experience and ability to develop networks and build alliances.
· Experience of managing development programming, campaigning and advocacy, humanitarian and other interventions in INGOs.
· Experience of working with donors.
· 6+ years of experience in a senior management position / similar position.
· Experience of programme management on Child Protection, Migration, Health, WASH and DRR themes is an asset
· Experience in successfully managing various forms of partnership with National and International NGOs.
Languages
· Excellent command over English and Nepali language (written and spoken) are required
